Indications
- Relief of productive (wet) coughs associated with:
- Common cold
- Bronchitis
- Influenza
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Chronic respiratory conditions (e.g., COPD, asthma — as adjunctive therapy)

- Increases hydration of respiratory tract
- Reduces viscosity (thickness) of bronchial secretions
- Facilitates ciliary movement of mucus and promotes productive coughing
- Form: Oral tablet
- Strength: 200 mg
- Adults and children ≥12 years: 200–400 mg every 4 hours as needed
- Maximum: 2,400 mg per day
- Children 6–11 years: 100–200 mg every 4 hours (max 1,200 mg/day)
- Take with a full glass of water to aid mucus thinning
- Common:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Stomach upset
- Drowsiness (rare)
- Rare but Serious:
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)
- Dizziness or headache
- Known hypersensitivity to guaifenesin or tablet ingredients
- Use caution in persistent or chronic cough (e.g., with smoking, asthma, or emphysema) unless directed by a healthcare provider
