Indications
- Blood Glucose Monitoring: ABRA test strips are used for self-monitoring blood glucose levels in individuals with diabetes. They provide quick and accurate measurements from a small drop of capillary blood.

- ABRA test strips are designed to work with compatible blood glucose meters. When a drop of blood is applied to the test strip, it reacts with the reagent to produce a small electrical current. The meter then translates this signal into a blood glucose reading.
- Form: Single-use diagnostic strips
- Use with: Compatible blood glucose meter (refer to packaging or product instructions)
- Steps:
- Insert the test strip into the meter.
- Apply a small drop of blood to the designated area.
- Wait for the reading to display on the meter.
- Precautions:
- Use only with compatible glucometers.
- Store in a cool, dry place.
- Do not use expired strips.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Close the container tightly after each use to protect from humidity.
- Storage and Handling
- Keep strips in original container.
- Avoid exposure to heat, moisture, and direct sunlight.

Possible Issues:

- Incorrect Readings: May occur if:
- Test strip is expired or improperly stored.
- Hands are not clean/dry before testing.
- Blood sample is insufficient or contaminated.
- Device Incompatibility: Only use with meters approved for ABRA strips; mismatched devices may yield inaccurate results.
- Not for use in neonatal or critically ill patients unless explicitly approved by a healthcare provider.
- Do not use if you have a known allergy to any material in the test strip (rare).
- Not suitable for ketone testing or non-capillary (e.g., venous/arterial) blood samples.
Information
Warnings and Precautions:
- Use with Compatible Devices Only: Always use ABRA test strips with the blood glucose meters they are designed for. Using incompatible meters may lead to inaccurate results.
- Storage Conditions: Exposure to moisture, heat, or direct sunlight can damage test strips and affect accuracy.
- Blood Sample Quality: Ensure the sample site is clean and dry. Dirty, sweaty, or wet fingers can contaminate the sample and lead to false readings.
- Do Not Share Devices: For infection control, test strips and meters should not be shared between individuals.
- For External Use Only: Not intended for use with non-capillary (e.g., venous or arterial) blood unless otherwise stated.
- Pregnancy and Lactation: Safe for use during pregnancy and lactation as a diagnostic tool, but always follow healthcare provider instructions for frequency and accuracy.
