Indications
- Severe Acne and Seborrhea: Especially when resistant to other treatments.
- Hirsutism: Excessive hair growth in women due to androgen sensitivity.
- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS): To manage symptoms related to elevated androgens.
- Androgenic Alopecia: Hair loss caused by elevated or hypersensitive response to androgens.
- Always used in combination with estrogens (e.g., ethinylestradiol) to prevent endometrial hyperplasia and enhance efficacy.

Cyproterone acetate:
- Blocks androgen receptors: Inhibits the effect of male hormones (testosterone, DHT) at the skin and hair follicle level.
- Suppresses ovarian androgen production: Reduces hormone stimulation from the ovaries.
- Has progestogenic activity: Regulates menstrual cycles and prevents ovulation.

- Typical Dose for Women:
- 1 tablet (10 mg) once daily from day 1 to day 15 of the menstrual cycle, usually combined with an estrogen (e.g., ethinylestradiol or in oral contraceptive form).
