Drug Interactions:

  • Thiazide Diuretics: May reduce calcium excretion, increasing risk of hypercalcemia.
  • Tetracyclines and Quinolones: Calcium interferes with absorption—space doses at least 2–4 hours apart.
  • Levothyroxine, Iron, Bisphosphonates: Absorption is impaired—take separately.
  • Digoxin (Cardiac Glycosides): Caution advised due to risk of arrhythmias; monitor closely.
